Conifers

Coniferous trees are mostly evergreen species with the exception of a few, that have had a special connection to oriental history and culture. Among the many species of conifers, Pine and Juniper varieties are the most popular for Bonsai cultivation. Evergreen trees can provide year round color and structure compared to Deciduous trees which lose their leaves in colder months. Coniferous species grow best outdoors.
