6.3" Tokoname Tatara Bowl Pot

This pot was handmade by the artisans of Tokoname in Aichi Prefecture in Japan. Tokoname is one of the oldest pottery producing places in Japan (Six Ancient Kilns) and specializes in tea ware, bonsai pots and flower vases.

This pot shape adds balance to thick trunk bonsai (general rule of thumb is that the bonsai tree should be twice as height as the pot). Thanks to the high firing process, Tokoname ware pots are less likely to crack when temperature changes.
